Life Guard indicators can save your life

Life Guard indicators are specifically designed for the application on blood bags.

They monitor hazardous temperature exceedance of blood by means of their irreversible and clear color change.

With Life Guards you can validate blood bag handling and save blood as well as potentially lives.

Life Guard indicators are easy to use and most effective

Life Guard indicators can be applied in cool and warm environment as well as in activated and not activated status.
Prior to activation they have to be cooled down to approx. 7,5°C and show a light-yellow center.After touch-less and quick activation (< 1sec.), Life Guard indicators show a dark-blue center.Activation is done with a especially designed and powerful stationary device.Following the exceedance of the critical temperature, the color of the center changes to a clear and bright orange the remains irreversible by recooling.Error temperatures from outside are being excluded due to the effective thermal insolation of the indicator.

Life Guard indicators are available globally

After a successful market introduction mid of 2010 at ISBT in Berlin, Life Guard indicators are availble globally.Together with the German based LMB Technologie GmbH, Life Guard indicators are rolled out in more that 30 countries all over the world. Distribution includes direct contacts to ministries of health (MOH), red cross organizations or public hospitals as well as university clinics, military hospitals or local distributors.

Tests and validations are constantly proceeding in order to set a new standard in the safety of blood handling out of controlled temperature zones and support the fight against ongoing shortage of blood resources by facilitating means of accepting returned blood bags.
